Organization Name: Korea Alpine Federation (KAF)
Establishment Purpose: Founded in April 1962, the KAF aims to develop mountaineering as a national movement to enhance the physical fitness of the public and promote a cheerful social atmosphere.

Regional Branches: 17 provincial federations, over 200 city/county/district branches, 2 overseas branches (Korean Federation in the USA, Korean Federation in China), and 6 overseas liaison offices (in Kathmandu, Nepal; Andes, Argentina; Denali, Alaska; Chamonix, France; Mongolia), with over 10,000 local mountaineering clubs and approximately 1.5 million members.
The Korea Alpine Federation engages in a variety of activities related to domestic and international mountaineering (such as overseas high-altitude climbing and remote area exploration) and mountain sports (including sports climbing, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, trail running, and recreational hiking). The federation also focuses on recreational sports, professional mountaineering, high-altitude expeditions, mountaineering education, youth programs, international exchanges, mountain safety, mountain culture, environmental conservation, and the dissemination of climbing techniques.
